Description

Moremi, Botswana

Moremi was once the traditional hunting ground of the Batawana Tribe who, in 1963, as a result of their great love for the wilderness, proclaimed this area protected wildlife sanctuary. Hippo, Elephant, Antelope and numerous species of birdlife abound on the riverbank and the floodplain in front of the camp. Belmond Khwai River Lodge is one of the oldest safari lodges in Botswana and is cradled on the gentle curves of the Khwai River which forms the natural boundary of the Moremi Wildlife Reserve.
